Hotel Occupation in Spain, July 2005 - July 2006
The total number of travellers using hotels rose by 26,201 between July 2005 and July 2006, thats a total of 482,606 travellers using hotels in this period. The majority of travellers using hotels in this time were Spanish residents, 267,662, with an increase of 29,060. The number of foreign residents rose by 19,250 since July 2005, taking the total for July 2006 to 214,944. This suggests although the number of foreign tourists using hotels has risen, foreign tourists prefer to use holiday rental accommodation when visiting the destination of their choice, as opposed to their Spanish counterparts.
