Improvements Planned In The Roadways Of Málaga Province
The government will have spent 2.579 billion euros to complete the high-speed train line from Cordoba to Málaga when this train line is finished. At that time, the trip from Madrid to the Costa del Sol will take just a little over two hours, compared with the current travel time of 4 hours 15 minutes.
One of the most impressive changes in Málaga is the transformation of the railway system. The city is ready and willing to receive the AVE trains, and to do so, it is preparing a spacious, modern station.
The Vialia Project involves not only the station itself, but also a recreational centre and two hotels. The complex will serve as a station for long-distance trains as well as neighbourhood lines, and it will be connected to the neighbouring bus station. At the same time, plans include connecting the station to one of the five subway lines planned for the city.
In terms of recreation, a ten-screen cinema will be installed with 2,500 seas; there will be a virtual reality centre, a bowling alley and 80 shops. The entire complex will offer 1,700 parking spaces.
According to studies conducted by the Andalucia Government, the high-speed train line will multiply the current number of travelers to and from Málaga and Seville by six, since when the works have been finalized, the trip will take one hour and fifteen minutes, half the time currently needed by travelers. The works are overseen by the Public Works Council of the autonomous community.
